WHAT TO SEE in OSLO?

10 THINGS TO SEE in OSLO

The Norwegian Opera and Ballet

The Theater is a beautiful glass and white marble building located on the banks of the Oslofjord. Inside there are many details and a refined choice of materials in which Baltic oak dominates.

National Gallery

The National Gallery houses the largest collection of Norwegian art from the Romantic period to modern works. Without a doubt, the masterpieces of Edvard Munch stand out, including the very famous 'Scream by Munch'. But not only that, also works by Picasso, Monet, Degas and many others.

Munch Museum

The Munch Museum, completely dedicated to the artist, is located in the north-eastern part of Oslo. Inside it is possible to admire his most famous masterpieces such as the Madonna, the Vampire, Jealousy and the Kiss, which have now become icons of world art. Be careful though, Munch's The Scream is not here but in the National Gallery. Here are 2 versions of the work, but not the definitive one!

Cathedral

Also known by the name of the Church of Our Savior, in Baroque style, it is famous for its splendid stained glass windows, for the beautiful ceiling painted with scenes from the New and Old Testament and for the decoration of the vaults.

Vigeland Park

Vigeland Park is a veritable open-air museum with 212 granite and bronze sculptures to be admired and photographed. So we advise you to visit the park at sunset, when the shadows create spectacular plays of light.

Folklore Museum (Norsk Folkemuseum)

The Norwegian Folklore Museum is Norway's largest open-air museum where you can admire reconstructions of rural and urban landscapes and rich collections from the Middle Ages onwards. The museum includes more than 150 buildings from different regions of the country.

There are old shops, craft workshops, carriages, popular music and dances, guides dressed in traditional costumes and even a historic playground. We absolutely recommend it if you want to spend a pleasant day outdoors discovering Norwegian life, arts and traditions!

Royal Palace

Considered one of the main monuments of Oslo, the Royal Palace is the residence of the Norwegian royal family and is immersed in the greenery of a park.

City Hall

Seat of the municipality of Oslo, it is one of the most particular buildings in the city as it has several rooms used for events and ceremonies. The Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held inside the structure every year. Particular is the music of the bells, in fact here there are 49 bells that ring 18 times a day, while on the first Wednesday of the month there is a concert at 13:00.

Akershus Castle

Akershus Castle is the main architectural symbol of the capital. Inside you can find the Norwegian Resistance Museum and the Armed Forces Museum. Not to be missed is the wonderful panorama over the port and the city and the famous Changing of the Guard which takes place every day at 1.30pm.

Fram Museum

Inside the Fram museum it is possible to admire the entirely restored Fram ship since she was the most resistant boat in the world and the one that remained further north and further south of the earth than all other boats. Furthermore, you can get on board and take a journey on an ice corridor where it seems to immerse yourself totally in the experience accompanied by various projections including an audiovisual show that reproduces the northern lights.

TELEFONARE e NAVIGARE all'ESTERO

eSIM CARD

Basta scansionarlo e sarai subito connesso a Internet.

Holafly-eSIM-how-does-it-work.jpg
